A Morning Vision

I'm enjoying a vacation from caregiving for the first time in many years. Mom

is at Other-Sister's for the summer and even Baby Girl is farmed out to a friend,

where she is spending time with another tiny doggie. I'm mostly just lazing around

in true "bear" fashion, just going out to get some junk food occasionally and taking

care of necessary things. About the only major thing on my agenda is a plan to

eventually make the long trip to my son's place to visit the family before my

granddaughter (who is nine) gets too much older. So far, I just haven't made up my

mind when to go.

Often I am up before daylight, sipping coffee and cruising some of my favorite

links. Then, after the pot is empty, I may log off and catch a few more zzz's.

Today, it seems just as my head hit the pillow again, I had just an instantaneous

"flash" vision; a very vivid image of a mature lady sitting and knitting. She had hair

still brown and lovely, made up in curls in an old-fashioned way and was looking

directly at me with her piercing blue eyes over the top of her glasses - like she was

giving me the business. What I "heard" was a very emphatic message:

"TAKE THE TRIP"

I focused in on her brilliant blue right eye for a few minutes and absorbed the

feeling that she was more than a little frustrated with trying to get through to me,

then I napped for another hour or so.

Guess it IS time to check out the old oil-burner and get on the road!
