Since the outer ego reflects what the inner ego expects and since the ego is not the center of the universe of self, but only reflects the outer edge, what techniques are useful in leaning about our many sub personalities and our inner self?
As I strive to improve my understanding of my intuitions, I find I’m limited to only one source of reference - those objects and events presented by my inner ego. Seeking meaning by comparing the reality my inner self creates against my earlier intuitions, seems as limiting as seeking knowledge of life by watching TV with the sound off… What else is available as a reference that would offer value in learning to know our inner selves? Since we label “real” those personal distorted reflections of self directed energy patterns, in objects and events, is it important to determine which of those objects and events were driven by the ego? Somehow this seems important since the inner self’s purposes are not focused only on the needs, desires and expectations of the ego. I can be content knowing that my ego contributes only one component of my self’s drives towards value fulfillment, but that contentment still leaves me wanting of an understanding of my other components desires and purposes. The most interesting aspect of this tension of wanting to know, is the feeling of joy that I experience as I continue to search for meaning and purpose. |

Hi there Jeffrey ! Well i am possibly not interpreting your post correctly but am feeling unusually chatty this morning so here goes .... I feel that your "feeling of joy" IS the only meaning or purpose, ie that there is no inherent meaning or purpose to anything other than what we individually choose. In learning about my subpersonalities and inner self i found that the post on families of conciousness presented by John was actually really useful as it helped me realise myself as someone who loves the magic of creation and the pleasure in helping through healing. You never responded to that post but you seem to me to be someone who is driven by wanting to understand everything and maybe teach ? Cheers from Cara xxox

Cara, I'm glad that the "families of consciousness" post helped!
And well said, I think the meaning and purpose of life/existence is what we give it. Creativity, joy, and love seem to be 'positive' components to this adventure. |

I found insight through my dreams. That is your deeper self's easiest means of communication with your physically present self. Because our deeper parts are not of this world, and do not follow this world's rules, our deeper self usually communicates through archetypal symbols. Some examples would be water as a representation of crossing over into the subconcsious or ethereal realms or, for me, I dream about battles at night, perhaps a representation of my own struggle to overcome my attachment physical experience (and the security of knowing what is there) and an inability to fully embrace (on a conscious level) what I suspect is the true nature of existence.
I found the book Dreams and Projections of Consciousness vey helpful in connecting with my deeper self, and it also gives techniques by which to open the channels of communication that are closed upon physical birth. Also, another source suggested (Abraham-Hicks) that our emotions are the way that our deeper self communicates with us. We have negative feelings when we are not aligned with our deeper self's intentions (or to use your term, desires) and positive emotion when our thinking and actions are aligned with our purpose. Hope this helps, good luck! |

Hi All,
I did find the family designations useful, but to a very limited degree (so far). I believe I am part of the Gramada family. Feelings of joy and positive/negative emotions are definite indicators for me that I use quite often. I keep an extensive dream notebook and have gained some limited insight from analysis of my dream symbols, but I'm desperately seeking more depth and clarity in my study of my self. 30 plus years of studying Seth has provided enormous value, but the more I know, the more I know I don't know what I know... Thanks everyone! |

Hi Jeffrey, maybe your desperation is creating blockages of some kind. For me, too much intellecualizing can cause my mind to spin like a hamster's wheel, and like the hamster, the spinning of the wheel gets me nowhere. I think that trying too hard can impede things. For example, I use to have dreams that I could fly, but I had to flap and flap very vigorously to get only a few inches off of the ground. Pure intent would have been much easier than flapping away! I also think that once we truly understand that we create our own reality, and the multidimensionality of ATI, the rest will flow naturally, if we only allow it to. Us humans seem to be the only beings that have a need to analyze everything, instead of just being what and who we are. Just my opinion though!
