I’m curious as to how many of us Seth Material Practitioners feel they have established a strong and equal partnership with their subconscious. Seth spoke about the ego having an inclination to ignore the subconscious in order to take full control of the entire personality. This is obviously a counterproductive approach towards health and fulfillment, but I suspect many do not trust, or care to communicate with, their subconscious.

I’m also curious as to how many utilize a pendulum, or similar technique, to communicate with their subconscious.

Well, first of all I question the word 'partnering' because that implies (to me) a separation of conscious self/ unconscious self that doesn't exist. As you know, the words we use can often be quite limiting (and I often wonder about thoughts that have no words, but that's another story). Still, I believe that as we grow in awareness of ourselves, of who and what we are, we expand our sense of consciousness so that the 'barriers' between conscious and unconscious become, if not clear, then translucent perhaps.

Love,
Mike.

P.S. I played with pendula in the past, but only as a way of achieving 'yes/no' answers. I've known others who use them for everything, including the choice of fruit at the grocery store.

Regarding your statement: "Well, first of all I question the word 'partnering' because that implies (to me) a separation of conscious self/ unconscious self that doesn't exist. "

Seth often times speaks about multiple components of ATI in order to help us understand how our reality is created. He then clearly states that these are not actual separations, but only differences in the focus of attention. So, the purpose in referencing these components, when there are really no boundaries, is to help us achieve that understanding that can lead us towards intellectually understanding our whole self.

Actually, there are no real boundaries between you and I, but writing to each other, as if we are separate, does seem to provide some value fulfillment...

Hiya Jeffrey. Well i did buy a pendulum after resding how Robert Butts used one but it doesnt swing or do anything for me. I think that i am concentrating too hard on not allowing any tremble or involuntary muscle movement to influence it that i am preventing it from moving at all. You mentioned "similar techniques" ...? is there something else i could try ? Love Cara xx

"Specifically I have not called this knowing light an entity, in terms of personhood. Yet I am sure that it possesses a psychology far divorced from any with which I have ever been acquainted; that it knows of my curiosity and examination and is not annoyed, but invites it." ~ The Afterdeath Journal of an American Philosopher, The World View of William James, March 31, 1977.

Hi Cara,

I had little to no success with the pendulum until my wife passed away. Prior to that we both used the Ouija board extensively for our questions and guidance. Now, I successfully utilize the pendulum multiple times each day. Another technique, that I sometimes use, less successfully, is to stand quietly and let my body point out yes when it moves forward and no when it moves sideways.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the afterdeath journal quote! I also like what Jane wrote in that book's epilogue: "...since the atmospheric presence doesn't intrude, we have to ask, to state our needs or intents and they will be met, because super-nature or the atmospheric presence is responsive and actively wants to give support.
Peace and Love,
