Hi All
I was wondering today, why it is that many people who get organ transplants also develop some of the behaviors of the donors, like food and music preferences. Has anyone else thought of this from a Sethian point of view , and come up with any reason why ?

Hi Cara,

What an interesting question. I have never thought of it before now. Here are some ideas:
"Units of consciousness possess their own inclinations, leanings and propensities." I guess this Seth statement can be used to somehow say that organs are possessed....

"Since these units of consciousness exist at once, they are aware of all the organized-self structures of which they are a part." So, I would think that the units of cons. in the donor's organ are aware of the receiver's body's senses including latent sensual preferences.

"These basic units move toward organizations then of a selective nature". So maybe the probable body of a Bach music lover attracted the used organ, so he/she could play the keyboard...

Cara, Jeffrey,

I don't catalog all the Seth sessions so pardon me for not pin pointing. I recall a time when Seth was discussing consciousness units and such and how we all have knowledge from all the cells that "die" and decompose and then (totally paraphrasing here) get taken back up into the 'circle of life'. All cells then hold memories throughout all history....pretty cool.

Peace

Hi Silverflow ...Thankyou , and what you said made me think of the old saying "You are what you eat"
Hi Jeffrey ... Thankyou also. I had got so tied up in the behaviour of the "Units of Consciousness" themselves that i had forgotten to consider the organ as a "Consciousness Unit" in its own right. And i had not looked at the larger picture of what possible attractions might exist between that particular recipient and that particular donor.
I had wondered if the feeling tone of the donor was still being played through the cells of the organ and whether that feeling tone was what was influencing the behaviour of the recipient.

Greetings,

So this made me wonder what people, who agree with Seth's philosophy, believe about the practice of donating organs.

I will not disturb my own body consciousness by having someone cut it into pieces.

I do not believe the practice, of a body having an organ replaced, would provide true value.

I do not believe the practice, of invasive surgery, offers a body true value.

I do not believe in allocating tax payer money to perform these procedures, but I do believe in everyone's right to their own beliefs and practices.
Peace and Love,
...Jeffrey

I keep hearing a quote from the ESP classes in my head. I listen to them as I drive to work and back and I have probably heard the entire disc set at least 5-6 times.

Organ transplant recipients must take an anti-rejection drug for the rest of their life. So the organ will only last as long as the belief in the anti-rejection drug. That is why organ transplants can fail after a certain amount of time.

I don't have the exact quote, but it goes like this...
The belief in such drug still separates you, to some degree, from yourself.

My drivers license does not say organ donor.
