When last week I read this thread I was very curious to know if this was indeed the same Seth, or rather, a portion of the Seth entity. Initially I thought it was possible, finding reasons supporting the idea as well as reasons that spoke against it. I also appreciate it very much that SID came up with this subject.
To me it was not about what SRS had to say, per se. First I had to find out (for myself) whether it was the original Seth. I am sure that there are a lot of mediums that Channel interesting information / knowledge. For example, I heard about Elias often and it speaks to me, even though I haven’t read it yet. But it’s not Seth.
The information on the SethReturns website was not enough for me. Mr. Frost seems very sincere in the Prefaces and Introductions released on the website. But the fact that you can pay 40 dollar to ask Seth one question…. Hmm, not sure what to think of that.
So I bought a SRS book. It was after 20 minutes of reading that I bumped into parts where I realized this is not our Seth. Here are some quotes that made it clear to me. I will not go into all the quotes separately; hopefully you see why I chose these ones.
Quotes from Mark Frost’s / Cas Seth book
“It would be physically impossible for the energy of All That Is to take on a body of its own because the energy is so massive that it could not manifest all of itself in the limited space of one body, nor would a body be able to withstand it. That is why souls have been created.”
“Each one is working with their groups at this time to begin the unification of consciousness and realign all of your spiritual and self beliefs into a oneness with Hierarchy and the planetary Creator.”
“The rules are very clear about suicide. You may not take your life. It is a violation of Universal Law. Some of you may feel you cannot go on. You must stay to finish out your life and learn the lessons that you were brought to the Earth plane to learn. (…) If you have abused your life with drugs, alcohol or whatever, this is also considered a suicide and you will be returned to do it over again. The Council is the only force on the Astral Planes that makes these decisions when there is a borderline situation. Otherwise, it is fairly clear, you will not be permitted to enter your home dimension.”

“As we observe your behaviors we send much love to you.”
“The souls of 9-11, prior to incarnating into their lives, were aware that these events were a probable reality and could lead to their probable deaths although they were not consciously aware of it as they lived out their daily lives.”
But 20 pages later:
“Many of the souls of 9-11 were caught in a state of confusion, not knowing that this was the moment of their death as you perceive it. They entered the transition of their energy phase from one focused point of power to another. Since many were unprepared and the event was so sudden, some may linger around for some time trying to communicate with their loved ones. Most however will seek the light of their soul and move on.”
“Most of you now come from the Atlantean civilization and are intimately tied to the beings of Sirius.”
“You cannot rape and pillage the Earth or its inhabitants without suffering dire consequences for those actions. It will not be allowed.”
“Many planets that you would deem uninhabitable are teeming with life. I will give you an example: the planets Venus and Sirius are filled with the most peaceful, loving beings in the Universe. It is a place many of us often go to.”
“All That Is encompasses many life forms in many Universes and on many planets.”

Furthermore, SRS talks about subjects that the real Seth goes into much deeper and more clear. I would expect Seth to go into new material sooner, now that he had the chance to speak again (I only read parts of the first book, so not sure about the rest.)
When it comes to his analysis of the terrorist attacks of 9-11, it is simply too superficial. Just read session 414 (Early Sessions), where the real Seth comments on the murder of Bob Kennedy, to see what I mean.
Then, as can be seen from the quotes above, SRS talks about All That Is different from how Seth does it. Seth would also talk about different system of reality and not only multiple universes, for example. Also, SRS talks about love and light and third and fourth dimension so much that it reminds me of the modern new age channelings like Steve Rother. (Which I respect but do not trust as being very pure knowledge as compared to Seth.)
All in all, I now have the feeling one has after finding something you have been looking for desperately for hours, in this case the answer to the question on Seth versus SethReturns. I end now with a quote from Jane Roberts.

As I was musing about it all, the phone rang again. This time I was tempted not to answer, but I did. The caller was a man who told me that the night before Seth had com¬municated with him through the Ouija board. He’d read Seth’s statement about communicating only through me to protect the integrity of the material. So my caller wanted to know who or what moved the Ouija for him.
I explained that since the Seth books were published, Seths were popping up all over, which was okay, but they weren’t my Seth. People were using Seth as a symbol, which was all right with him; a symbol of higher levels of consciousness. I also told him about Adventures in Consciousness, in which I gave my ideas about such trance or Ouija personalities.
