Hi Cyn, Ladybird, SID, Sylvia and All

Thankyou SID and Cynergy for the links. I have found a few more quotes on this subject from the Personal Sessions, (which i havent read yet but have waiting on my shelf).

Book 2 ... In this quote Seth is talking about Jane...
"I have said little about astrology, yet he chose to be born under that earth sign.(Taurus) It is one , for reasons incidentally that I will give you at a later time, that brings the flowering of ability in later years, and that also provides, when talents are present, a conservative countering measure."

And from Book 3 ... "There are however definite points of both additional energy, and therefore insights available at different times. There are too many reasons to be given in this session, but they apply generally to each individual, having to do with the nature of the psyche's "initial" entry into your system. I am hinting here of connections with astrology, though certainly not the astrology currently known.
For Rubert, spring and fall are periods when all of his energy rouses at a highly creative level, and insights are particularly available at such times. The period before an individual's birth is enacted again symbolically, but in new ways each year."

I'm a Libra, although technically I would be a Virgo, since the signs are about a month off.

I find it interesting that there are both twelve zodiac signs and twelve disciples of Christ; for the latter, I believe Seth mentioned that those twelve disciples represented characteristics of Christ, and the zodiac signs are also groupings of characteristics. I find that my personality fits into Aquarius and Sagitarrius the best, and don't identify with Libra at all (even though I like my sign).

There also seem to be some parallels between the astrological signs and families of consciousness. The ones that stand out to me are:

Aquarius/Sumari - the innovators
Sagittarius/Vold - change and transformation
Cancer/Borledim - nurturers and natural parents
Aries/Gramada - energetic and vital
Pisces/Milumet - internal and psychically gifted
Libra/Zuli - materialism and beauty
Virgo/Ilda - communicators of info/ideas

Borrowing a Seth quote from the link that SID posted: "You are so taken with the idea of labels that many follow astrology blindly." I wouldn't take astrology too literally, but from a psychological perspective it's cool to see how we divide our own attributes of ourselves. Consciousness is always trying to organize itself into different gestalts.

Another excellent quote:

"All things are related, but they do not act in a certain way BECAUSE the planets were such-and-such at your birth. There IS a relationship, but it is not causal. It is quite as true to say that the planets behave in a certain way because you are what you are, as it is to turn the statement around, as is generally done.

"The very positions of the planets and the stars are effects of the senses--perceptions that would have no meaning were it not for your own kind of consciousness. These perceptions, then, cannot cause you to behave in any given way BECAUSE of conditions that have no meaning outside your own consciousness."

I am cancer but don't have a clue what family. The cancer does seem to depict my personality however.

Hello Sailorstarrr and friend Richard

Sailorstarrr... Your chart is interesting and accurate for me. What did you mean when you said that "the signs are about a month off" ?

Hi Cara. You probably heard in the news during the past year or so that the zodiac signs are off by a month. The reason is this: we have two different kinds of years--seasonal years and astronomical years--and they don't quite match up. Our calendars are based on seasonal years.

The seasons are caused by the tilt of the rotational axis of the earth with respect to its path around the sun. If you live in the northern hemisphere, in the winter months (December, January, February) the north pole is pointed away from the sun. This causes less light to fall on that part of the earth, and the light that does arrive is at a less direct angle. That's why it's colder in winter.

The axis points in the same direction all year (towards the north star Polaris). However, because of gravity the moon tugs on the earth a bit, slowly shifting the direction of that axis (called precession). If you could fast forward 26,000 years you'd see the axis make one full rotation.

When people talk about what sign they are, they mean their sun sign. If you look toward the sun around sunrise/sunset on your birthday, you will find the sun in one of the constellations of the zodiac. In the couple thousand years since our zodiac was created, the precession of the axis has caused our seasons to be out of sync with the astronomical year by about a month, which has the effect of making us now see the sun in a different constellation on our birthday than the one it was in when the zodiac was created. Unfortunately we have not updated our zodiac, hence we are off by about a sign.

Last Edit: 5 months, 2 weeks ago by sailorstarrr.

Hi sailorstarr! That's very observant, I like those parallels between astrology and the families of conciousness. I find the families of conciousness a lot less confusing tho! BTW, Cara is down under in New Zealand, which we affectionatly refer to as "tomorrowland". Our cold winter is her hot summer, and instead of Polaris, she has the Southern Cross, which I long to see someday! Thanks for the insightfulness that you bring!, Love, Cyn
